Please read the following information carefully to ensure students are appropriately informed, and to prevent student exclusion from the exam.
This brochure is intended to summarize the information needed for instructors to schedule exams for their classes and for individuals to schedule practical or written retests. A complete copy of the Region V Exam policies is available on the Region web site at www.regionvems.com.
° Only
money orders or Institutional Checks (FD, city, etc.) will be accepted for
payment of all fees.
° If
paying by Institutional check:
KSBEMS fees need to be paid with individual checks for each student.
Personal Checks are not accepted by Region V EMS-
All personal checks submitted will be returned to you
resulting in
an approximate two week registration delay.
° Students
should arrive for registration at 0800; Orientation will begin as soon
as registration is completed. Those arriving late may be barred from
registering for the exam
° Any candidate arriving at an exam site without all required money orders and paperwork, or arriving late, will be refused admittance to the exam and will forfeit the Region V exam fee.
° A Dress code is part of Region V EMS exam policy and is available on our web site.
° Exam date confirmations will be emailed to you. You must provide an email address to receive your confirmation.
° Confirmations will be mailed out as early as practical before the exam.
° If
you have not received a confirmation within 7 days before the exam please call the Region V EMS office
at 913-980-9644.
Written examinations for EMT-B and First Responder are now the responsibility of the NREMT and KSBEMS. EMT-I written exams are still administered by Region V and will be given the same day as the practical exam

INITIAL CERTIFICATION EXAMINATIONS
Ø To register a class ( FR, EMT-B EMT-I or EMT-D) for an INITIAL exam, the following must be submitted, to the Region V office, at least 30 days in advance of the exam date of student’s choice:
1.
Class roster containing the following information:
§ Student names
§ Social Security number for each student
§ Level of exam
2.
A Money Order for $50.00 payable to Region V EMS-
student’s name must be legible on the money order.
- Then the day of the exam each student must bring to the exam, the following:
1. $50.00 money order payable to KSBEMS for EMT-B or EMT-I;
or $15.00 money order payable to KSBEMS for First
Responder.
2. The original KSBEMS Application for Examination and Certification, signed by the Instructor Coordinator.
3.
EMT-B and FR must
attach a copy
(front and back) of student’s current AHA Health Care
Provider or equivalent CPR certification.
4.
A Government issued valid photo ID (Driver’s License, etc.)
PRACTICAL RETESTS
Ø Individuals
requesting registration to retake a
practical exam must submit to the Region V office, at least 30 days
in advance of the exam date of
choice, the following:
o A
Request for Retest form (supplied by KSBEMS with official Exam Results from the
candidates last exam attempt)
o A
money order for $50.00 payable to
Region V EMS with the student’s name printed legibly on the money
order.
Ø The day of the exam the candidate must bring to the exam:
o Original
KSBEMS Exam results from the student’s last attempt, supplied by KSBEMS when
you were notified of your last exam attempt results. (May be 2 or more pages.
Please bring all).
o Government issued, valid photo ID.
o Copy of your current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card or equivalent.
WRITTEN RETESTS
Ø Individuals
requesting registration for an EMT-I written exam retake must submit to the
Region V office, at least 30 days in advance of the exam date of choice, the following:
o An
Application for Retest (supplied with official Exam Results from KSBEMS)
o A
money order for $15.00 payable to
Region V EMS.
Ø The day of the exam the student must bring to the exam:
o Original
KSBEMS Exam results from the student’s last attempt. (May be 2 or more pages.
